JULY 2017 BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT
For our first business spotlight, we’ve decided on Simply Dance. As young entrepreneurs we love seeing other young individuals going for their dreams. This is exactly what Katie Whitley, the owner of Simply Dance, has done. We sat down with Katie and asked her a few questions about her dance studio.
WHAT IS SIMPLY DANCE?
Simply Dance is Forsyth’s newest dance studio offering instruction in a variety of dance types with passionate and professional teachers.
WHAT SERVICES DO YOU OFFER?
Starting at age 3, we offer instruction in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Pointe, Creative Movement, Lyrical, Hip Hop, and Cheer Dance. We have a great team of teachers who work hard each week to offer quality instruction to our students while building meaningful relationships with them.
WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?
We have most recently been located downtown on Johnston Street. Yet, we are so excited to announce our new location on North Jackson Street in Forsyth. We are moving into the building across from the Monroe Reporter (formerly Ashley Marie’s Boutique.) We are so excited to start the new dance season in our new space, as we will have a much larger lobby for our parents and students to wait in, and two dance rooms! Having two dance rooms will make such a difference and will allow us to reach and accommodate more students, as well as lessen the wait time for parents with multiple dancers. Classes will begin early August, so be sure to stop by our new location at 57 N Jackson St and check us out!
WHAT ARE YOUR FUTURE PLANS?
A huge part of our future plans was finding a bigger space for our studio. Since we have accomplished that we feel like the opportunities for the future are endless! We look forward to continually offering quality instruction and adding classes based on the interest of our parents and students. We would love to begin to offer dance themed birthday parties and host other events in our new space. Last year we had an amazing end of the year recital, Alice in Wonderland. So of course, we are already brainstorming what next year’s recital will be!
HOW HAS SEVEN 5 BEEN BENEFICIAL TO YOUR BUSINESS?
Seven 5 has been incredibly beneficial to our business. When we first opened the studio last summer, the guys at Seven 5 provided all the vinyl for our windows to let people know who we were and what we were offering. They also made a beautiful vinyl decal using our logo to display in our dance room. Seven 5 also wrapped our ballet barres using our logo and color scheme, the students loved them! They have made all of our banners for the studio and for our Christmas parade float. Most recently, they made all the props for our recital. They truly outdid themselves when they made our teacups, mushrooms, cards, and much more for our Alice in Wonderland show. In addition to vinyl, the guys at Seven 5 have made all of our studio t-shirts. The students receive a t-shirt every year and they are working on this year’s shirt now. We are forever grateful to Seven 5 for their support. We can’t wait to use them again in our new space!
